Retirement

So, I marched into my boss's office and told her that I'm going to retire on my 55th birthday, in the summer of 2019.  Well, I didn't exactly 'march', instead I quietly slinked in there and took a seat and told her.  She said there was a time when many state employees retired at age 55.  Today many fewer do so because of health insurance. 

She looked at me, smiled, and asked, "Are you going to Spain?"

"Yes, at least that's the plan."

I filled out an online form and called the offices of Employee Trust Funds for the state of Wisconsin to get the ball rolling with the calculation of benefits.  I have many questions about health care.
